Big Life Update/Round Up!

Hey guys!

Let me just start off by apologising for how long I've been AWOL from this blog!
I'll talk a little bit about why I've been gone first, then the rest of this blog will be about my goals for 2017/a round-up of 2016!

I haven't been feeling very inspired recently - in fact, I've been stuck in a rut for a long time now, creatively and mentally.
I love blogging - I like coming up with an idea for a post, I like trying to find the right words to get my point across and I like trying to choose which photos to include (if it's a blog post with pictures). I like feeling like I can unload my thoughts, even if I feel like no one is going to read what I've written apart from me.
However - towards the end of last year, I had little motivation for anything. I didn't want to write blogs, I didn't want to read books - I barely even wanted to play games or go for walks. It didn't help that my laptop was playing up again - it decided to create a temporary account for me, so I couldn't access any of my documents, etc, and nothing I did seemed to fix it, so in the end I had to cut my losses and do a factory restore. So, long story short, I lost a lot of my files thanks to that, including some blog post ideas, and that coupled with the lack of motivation meant that my blog took a back seat for a while.
This year, I'd like to start blogging again. I can't necessarily promise that I'm going to be here every single week at a specific time, but I can promise that I'll try to be around as much as I can. I'm slowly beginning to get my motivation back, and I'd love to start blogging again, so stick around if you like, as I'll be back!

Anyway, enough of that - let's move onto my 2016 round up and my 2017 goals!

2016 was a crazy year. There were some highs and an awful lot of lows - which is to be expected.

Some of my high points last year included :

Winning guestlist to see one of my favourite bands, after entering a competition with the most ridiculous reason ever
Being on Blaqk Audio's website when their new album was released
Going on holiday to the South of France - it helped me rekindle my love of taking photos again, too
Finding out that both of my favourite bands of all time would be releasing new music this year (as I'm typing up this blog post, one of them have released the album already and the other ones are releasing theirs in approximately a week)
I finally achieved the hair colour I've wanted since I was around 18 (small thing, but it made me happy)

I'm not really going to go into the low points, as a lot of them are far too personal for me to be revealing online, but let's just say that 2016 wasn't a good year for me in a lot of ways!

I hope to make things different this year. A lot of big changes will be happening in my life in the coming months - some I'll probably be talking about online, some I'll definitely be keeping to myself in case I end up failing or something goes wrong - but I definitely want to try and work on a lot of different things this year!

My 2017 goals (that I'm willing to talk about) are this :

Work on making myself happier - whether it's something small, like forcing myself to put makeup on when I'm sad, or something bigger, I need to find ways to pick myself up when I'm feeling down and hopefully also find a way to improve my (pretty much non existent) self esteem!

Travel more - even if it's just travelling around the UK more (although there's a lot of places abroad that I'd love to see if I can) I'd like to see more of the world!

Take more photos - I love going for walks and taking photos of everything, but I've been stuck in a bit of a creative rut recently, so I'd love to go out more and try to find my inspiration again.

Start writing again - when I was a teenager, all I wanted to do was write. I'd write stories with my friends, I'd write fanfiction about bands I liked, and I'd just always have my head in a notebook, scribbling down ideas and first chapters. I haven't been writing anywhere near as frequently since then, so I'd like to start writing again, even if it's just for me.

I hope you're all well and had an amazing Christmas/New Year, also!
Thank you for your patience, and I hope to see you all again very soon.
